Named 'Snail Rider,' this ink drawing depicts a Cycladic idol atop a snail, observing an overturned beetle. Nearby, a contemplative idol reflects. A full moon graces an olive tree backdrop. Artifacts emerge by a stone house, while distant ones appear abandoned. A seated female idol watches. An upright beetle arrives, engaging the overturned one. 'Snail Rider' masterfully marries Cycladic aesthetics with a narrative inviting viewers to ponder the interplay of beings, the flow of time, and the unspoken narratives woven into ancient stones.

this is also just one single original ink drawing by Spiros Gratsias which is inspired by a children’s book, the story he wrote both in Greek an English and he did all the illustrations too. The book is called “A & B by Spiros Gratsias” and was published also through YouTube. A and B Paperback separately can be ordered through Amazon.

Spiros Gratsias was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. Spiros is an engineer, designer, artist, illustrator, screen and fiction writer. He is the screenwriter of the award-winning short film animation “Inverse” based on a story from his book Rootless Roots. He has also written the historical fiction The C Enigma published on Amazon in 2014, and his latest 2022 novel Unyielding Destiny a crime fiction. In his professional life, he was a Research and Development executive with over forty years’ experience in the aerospace and consumer goods industry. Spiros lives in Athens and the island of Naxos, Greece and devotes much of his time to painting, illustrating and writing.
