HAND of APOLLO

€180.00

New 3D created sculpture art by Spiros Gratsias, very limited edition.

“From the roots of memory the hand carries the soul of Naxos, and “The Portara* rises into eternity.”

The Portara, or the entrance to the former temple of Apollo had been created from Naxos white marble already during the 6th century B.C.

The temple was partially built but local wars destroyed it and later locals carried some marble away for their own homes. Today it is a sacred location from where visitors enjoy beautiful sunsets and the boat traffic on the Mediterranean Sea.
